Altered States? International Juried Show
January 14 - February 26, 2012
ARTSPACE Gallery, Stroudsburg, PA

I was pleased to be accepted into a international juried show entitled "Altered States?" It is a photo-based exhibition of works which have been altered by the artist at any point during the photographic process.

In addition to the Pennsylvania area, accepted works are from Wisconsin, New York, West Virginia, Delaware, North Carolina, Colorado, California, Portugal and Germany

It has been almost 6 years since I made my first blog post & created my original web site of my photo-related work.

Time, or the lack of time, has always been a big issue for me. There are so many things I want to & have to do. I am very much a "nose to the grindstone" type of person, but there never seems to be enough time to do everything.

I have heard it said that an artist has many jobs. They have to create, promote, sell (all very complex in themselves) and have a paying job to finance the expenses of their artistic creativity. So, priorities have to be set.

I have been setting as my priority creating new works. I have created a lot of new pieces in the past 6 years that I am very proud of. My work has been accepted into many juried shows & awarded recognition. Creatively, it has been time well spent.

However, within the past 6 months, I have come to realize that my web promotion needed updating. So I have created the following new web pages with examples & information on my work:

Last week, I revised my current web site (http://comersuz.home.comcast.net/~comersuz/) to make not of the fact that the images there are earlier works & provided links to the newer sites mentioned above. Eventually, making an entirely new portfolio web site will rise to the top of my list.

Creating a Web Presence

There are such a limited number of hours in a day! So, how do you accomplish everything on your "to do" list?

My list of things I want to do is always so long. There are so many things I want to accomplish & there, of course, is never enough time to do them all, but I still try!

The past few years, I have devoted my "free" time to shooting digital photographs, creating photo-art images from sections of my photographs, & pursuing avenues for displaying my work. This has mostly entailed entering various competitions & being accepted to juried art shows and publications such as Philadelphia Stories.

However, a designer friend of mine, Michelle, has been bugging me the past few years to have a presence on the web to show my work. So, I set for myself a goal to do just that this month.

The 2006 spring issue of Philadelphia Stories magazine features one of my recent photo-art pieces on the cover (both printed & web magazine), as well as an additional image inside. So, I promised myself I would create a web site to honor the occasion. I decided to create a very simple site, realizing it was more important to create a basic initial site than try to achieve all my goals of what my web site could/should be.

It was also Michelle's idea to connect a blog to my web site. So, to honor all her encouraging suggestions, I decided to add this feature to my basic site.

So, on this March 7th, I am expanding my personal horizons like I once did on March 7th so many years ago! I hope you enjoy my first basic site at http://comersuz.home.comcast.net, as well this new blog. I look forward to hearing from you!
