Presented by Philadelphia Stories
My proposal to create a photomontage based on the "Dream Garden" glass mosaic mural, designed by artist Maxfield Parrish and executed by Louis Comfort Tiffany. (http://www.ushistory.org/tour/dream-garden.htm) was selected by jury to be a part of the "Forgotten Philadelphia" Exhibit. The opening reception was on Friday in conjunction with the city-wide First Friday art event.
My photomontage "Elation" was created from selections of 6 different photos of different sections of the "Dream Garden" mural.
The show explores hidden treasures from the Philadelphia area through the work of local artists and writers. Art, poems and short fiction inspired by specific heritage sites were created specifically for the exhibit.
The opening reception was a fun event. The show continues through November 9, 2012 at Fairmount Park Welcome Center, Love Park, 16th and JFK Boulevard, Philadelphia.
